View daily profile counts and changes

Customer Insights includes a Dashboard titled App Profile Counts. By default, this Dashboard shows you the exact number of user profiles you had as of midnight (UTC time) for the past 7 days. (It also shows how those profile totals have changed from day-to-day.) In other words:
Two things make App Profile Counts particularly useful. First, the Dashboard is built on top of a query that automatically runs at the same time every single day (midnight UTC time). That means that you don’t have to do anything: the query has already been written and has already been scheduled to run. All you have to do is open the Dashboard and view the results.
In addition to that, you can be confident that your profile totals are always based on a 24-hour period, and on the exact same 24-hour period: you just have to remember that you must take your local time zone into account when viewing the totals. True, if you live smack dab on the Prime Meridian that means that 24-hour period runs from midnight to midnight. But if you live in Portland, OR, that 24-hour period runs from 4:00 PM to 4:00 PM (because there's an 8-hour difference between Pacific time and UTC time). But for every day displayed in the Dashboard, the 24-hour period will always be the same.
By default, App Profile Counts shows a single value representing the combined user profile totals for all your entity types. However, you do have the option of running your query against a subset of your entity types. For example, this filter only returns the user profile counts for the IT_User entity type:
Depending on how your entity types have been configured, this makes it easy to view profile counts for, say, all your users from Africa, or all your users from southeast Asia.
