Selecting a target region for reserved IPs

The reserved IP and its target resource must be in the same region. Because reserved IPs are tied to a specific datacenter's network topology, you cannot change this region or move the IP to a different datacenter later.

  1. (Optional) Add any Tags to help organize and group your Akamai Cloud resources.
  2. Click Reserve IP Address for the changes to take effect.

An individual public IPv4 address is reserved for your account and ready to assign.

Reserve a public IPv4 address when deploying a new resource

When creating a new Linode or NodeBalancer, you can choose to have a public IPv4 address auto-assigned or select one from your reserved IPs in that resource's region. You also have the option to reserve a new address specifically for the resource during setup. See detailed guides for more information.

Reserve an in-use public IPv4 address

You can reserve a public IPv4 address that is currently in use by a Linode or NodeBalancer. Once reserved, the address is added to your account's reserved IP list and remains exclusive to you, even if the resource is deleted. The IP will remain permanently tied to the region where the resource was created. See detailed guides for more information.
