Detach or delete a VLAN from a Linode
If you no longer wish to include a particular Linode within a VLAN's private network, the VLAN can be detached by editing that Linode's Configuration Profile.
VLANs on Linodes using Linode interfaces, can't be detached. They are deleted instead.
-
Within Cloud Manager, click the Linodes link in the sidebar and select a Linode.
-
Follow the steps in the table based on whether your Linode uses configuration profile interfaces or Linode interfaces.
| Configuration Profile Interfaces | Linode Interfaces | |
|---|---|---|
| 3. | Navigate to the Configurations tab for that Linode. | Power Off the Linode and select the Network tab for that Linode. |
| 4. | Select the Edit option for the configuration profile you'd like to modify. An Edit Configuration screen appears. | Select the Delete option for the VLAN you'd like to remove from the Linode. A confirmation message appears. |
| 5. | Scroll down to the Network Interfaces section. Click the dropdown menu under the network interface for that VLAN and select None. This detaches the VLAN. Click the Save Changes button to confirm the changes to the configuration profile. | Click the Delete button to confirm the VLANs deletion. |
| 6. | Reboot the Linode to save your changes and completely detach the VLAN. Note: If a VLAN is not attached to a Akamai Cloud service, it will automatically be deleted. | Once the VLAN is deleted, Power On the Linode. |
