June 5, 2025 — LKE Enterprise launched (in limited availability)
LKE Enterprise, Akamai's new enterprise-oriented managed Kubernetes offering, has been released as part of a limited availability launch. When compared with the standard LKE offering, LKE Enterprise supports more worker nodes (500), more pods (5000), includes dedicated control plane resources, among many additional enhancements and features. May 21, 2025 — Managed Databases enhancement
Managed Databases now support self-serviceable advanced database configuration. The configuration enables fine-tuning of various aspects of a database system beyond basic setup: optimizing performance, security, and scalability. Advanced database configuration will be supported in UI, API, CLI, Terraform, and SDKs. The parameters are applicable to both MySQL and PostgreSQL databases.

Object Storage quotas are now generally available. Quotas aim to ensure efficient resource allocation and provide predictable usage.

You can now view the Object Storage quotas applied to your account. Quotas are usage limits put in place to help ensure efficient resource allocation and system stability. You can view your quotas and usage in Cloud Manager or using the API.

May 5, 2025 — Cloud Firewall IP encapsulation protocol
The IPENCAP (IP Encapsulation) protocol in a Cloud Firewall rule matches packets based on the protocol field—4 for IPv4 and 41 for IPv6.
April 3, 2025 — New Accelerated plans
Accelerated Compute Instances are now generally available. Backed by NETINT Quadra T1U video processing units (VPUs), these Compute InInstances are particularly well-suited to live streaming and video on demand (VOD) transcoding workloads. To learn more, see Accelerated Compute Instances.
Mar 17, 2025 — Block Storage supports encryption
Full disk encryption is available for block storage volumes. The platform automatically manages the encryption and decryption process for you. An encrypted volume can be used in the same way that a non-encrypted volume is used today. To learn more, see Volume Encryption.
Mar 7, 2025 — DNS Manager, authoritative zone transfer (AXFR) address change
On May 6, 2025, the IP address 207.192.70.10
will be retired and replaced with 143.42.7.10
. Both IPs will respond to inbound requests until the cutover date. Outbound requests will only originate from the old IP address (207.192.70.10
) until the cutover date. Please update your firewall rules and DNS server configurations to add the new IP address (143.42.7.10
) before the cutover.
