Monitoring overview (Beta)
Akamai Cloud Pulse is currently in beta. Databases is the first service for which metrics and alerts are available. Observability features and capabilities are planned for additional services in future releases.
Akamai Cloud Pulse is an observability solution that delivers real-time insights into the performance, availability, and reliability of your cloud entities and infrastructure. These insights can help you to monitor your services, respond quickly to any issues that arise, and plan for future needs.
Metrics provide quantitative data about the performance of your service over time. Alerts help you stay aware of important conditions affecting your services, which in turn enables you to respond more quickly when issues arise.
The beta release includes the following metrics and alerts capabilities:
Metrics
- Automatic metrics collection: Akamai Cloud Pulse automatically collects and stores metrics for supported services.
- Visualization and analysis: Explore performance using metrics dashboards that present key indicators and trends.
- Metrics export: Export metrics for analysis using external observability tools. The Akamai Distribution of the OpenTelemetry Collector for Akamai Cloud Pulse exposes metrics for ingestion by your chosen visualization and analysis tools.
- Programmatic access: Retrieve metrics using the Linode API.
Alerts
- System alerts: Predefined system alerts notify you of critical events and service-impacting conditions.
- Custom alerts: Create custom alerts called user alerts by specifying your own evaluation criteria.
- Alert notifications: Specify the channel that should be used to notify users of important events.
- Programmatic access: Configure and manage alerts using the Linode API

Metrics and alerts are currently available for the Databases service.
Pricing
