Quotas

Quotas are predetermined limits that control resource usage for Akamai Cloud services. Quotas aim to ensure efficient resource allocation, maintain system stability, and provide predictable usage for all customers.

You can view your quotas and usage details on the Quotas page of Cloud Manager or using the API. You can also request increases when quotas are reached.

Currently, only Object Storage quotas can be accessed. To learn more, see Object Storage quotas and limits.

View quotas and usage

To view quotas and your current usage in Cloud Manager:

  1. Log in to Cloud Manager and navigate to Quotas (under Administration) in the sidebar menu.
  2. The Service dropdown menu should have Object Storage preselected. Once additional services enable quotas, you can select any supported service using this menu.
  3. View your global quotas or select an endpoint from the Object Storage Endpoint dropdown menu to view per endpoint quotas.

Global quotas

Global quotas are quotas that are applied account-wide. Currently, there is only one global quota that can be viewed in Cloud Manager.

  • Number of access keys: The number of Object Storage access keys that can be created per account.

Per endpoint quotas

Most Object Storage quotas are defined per endpoint, meaning they apply to each individual endpoint instead of account-wide. To view per endpoint quotas, select your endpoint from the dropdown menu. All quotas for that endpoint are listed in the provided table alongside their usage data.

  • Total capacity: Storage capacity per account, per endpoint
  • Number of objects: Number of objects that can be stored in each endpoint
  • Number of buckets: Number of buckets that can be created in each endpoint
  • Ingress throughput*: Total ingress bandwidth per account, per endpoint
  • Egress throughput*: Total egress bandwidth per account, per endpoint

* Ingress and egress throughput quotas are only visible for E2 and E3 endpoint types. Usage details for these quotas can be viewed within Akamai Cloud Pulse Metrics for Object Storage.

Request an increase

You can request an increase to a quota at any time.

  1. Navigate to the Quotas page in Cloud Manager. See View quotas and usage.

  2. Use the filters to find the quota that you want increased.

  3. Select Request Increase from the Actions menu.

  4. Complete the form that appears.


  5. Click Submit to send your request for consideration.

There’s no cost to request a quota increase. Support will review your request and notify you of the outcome.
