Linodes audit logs

Logs are structured records that document events, actions, and changes that occur within a system or service. They capture what happened, when it happened, and relevant contextual details that help users understand activity over time. Because they offer a historical record, they support troubleshooting, monitoring, and security analysis.

Akamai automatically collects audit logs for control plane operations across supported Akamai Cloud services. For Linodes, captured events include actions such as creating, updating, deleting, cloning, and resizing Linodes. For the complete list of control plane events captured for Linodes and other Akamai Cloud services, see Events captured in configuration audit logs.

To access and view log data, you must first configure a stream to deliver logs to a destination, such as an Object Storage bucket or a custom HTTPS endpoint. For guidance on setting up a log stream, see Quick start: audit logs.

For more information about streams, destinations, and delivered log formats and contents, see the Logs documentation.
