Add this behavior to enhance origin offload by optimizing data caches in regions nearest to your origin server.

How it works

Cloud Wrapper maximizes origin offload for large libraries of content. It gives you access to supplementary, regional resources for your hosts, called a "footprint." Content from your origin is cached in your footprint, which reduces the need for direct contact with your origin. This helps your origins operate at peak performance.

You need to have this added to your contract to access the appropriate behavior in Property Manager. Contact your account team to add this functionality.

Caveats and known issues

Consider these points when adding Cloud Wrapper:

• You can't use the SureRoute or SiteShield behaviors with Cloud Wrapper.

• Cloud Wrapper is currently offered for use with the following ​Akamai​ products:

  • Adaptive Media Delivery

  • Download Delivery

  • Dynamic Site Accelerator (Beta)

  • Ion (Beta)

  • Object Delivery
