How it works

​Akamai​ uses location information you provide to optimize the metadata configuration, which may result in better end-user performance. If you set a region that is closer to your clients, delivery is typically faster.

Client Location

Select a geographic location that best represents the clients that will be requesting your content. You can select from these regions:

  • Global

  • Global, US-centric (Global-wide requests, but with an emphasis on the United States)

  • Global, EU-centric (Global-wide requests, but with an emphasis on Europe)

  • Global, Asia-centric (Global-wide requests, but with an emphasis on Asia)

  • Europe

  • North America

  • South America

  • Nordics

  • Asia Pacific

  • Australia

  • Germany

  • India

  • Italy

  • Japan

  • Taiwan

  • United Kingdom

  • Other

  • Unknown

Products that use this behavior

This behavior is automatically included in the Default Rule for these products:

It's required in the Default Rule with these products. An error message is revealed if you delete it, and you'll need to re-add it. However, you can also include it in a child rule, which lets you override what's set in the Default Rule. This way, you can set different match criteria to be met to apply this behavior for specific requests.
