Client Characteristics
This behavior optimizes delivery to requesting clients. Akamai uses the location information you provide to optimize the metadata configuration, which may result in a better end-user performance.
How it works
This behavior incorporates use case-based provisioning to optimize delivery to requesting clients. If you set a region that is closer to your clients, delivery is typically faster. This is a mandatory behavior in the context of an Adaptive Media Delivery (AMD), Download Delivery or Object Delivery property. You can't delete this behavior from the Default Rule. An error message is revealed if you delete it, and you need to re-add it. However, you can also include this behavior in a lower-level, or nested custom rule. This lets you override what's set in the Default Rule for this behavior. You can set different match criteria to be met to apply this behavior, instead.
Features and options
If you're unsure, leave this set to Unknown. If you select an inappropriate geographic region, it can negatively affect delivery.
