View an alert definition (Beta)
An alerts definition is accessed using Cloud Manager or the Linode API.
To view an alert definition in Cloud Manager:

Log in to Cloud Manager.

Expand Monitor in the side navigation menu and select Alerts. The Alerts page appears.

Select the Definitions tab to see the list of configured alert definitions. This list includes both system and user alerts.
For each alert definition, the following information is displayed:
- The name of the alert
- The status of the alert: enabled, disabled, in progress, or failed
- The Akamai Cloud service to which the alert applies
- The creator the alert: "system" for default alerts, or a username for custom alerts
- The time the alert definition was last modified
A status of “In Progress” means the alert has been created but the system is still working on its implementation. A status of “Failed” means something has gone wrong, and you should contact Support for assistance.

Use the search, filter, and sort tools to find the specific alert definition you wish to view.

To open the alert definition, click its name in the list or select Show Details from the options menu.
The details page provides general information about the alert as well as the criteria used to trigger it, the entities assigned to it, and the notification channel. The entities list shows only the entities to which you have access.
