Secure access to HTTP App with Akamai Workforce Protector DLP (Limited Availability)
Overview
When integrated with EAA, Akamai Workforce Protector (formerly LayerX) (AWP) enables granular Data Loss Prevention (DLP) for users accessing EAA applications through a web browser with the Akamai Workforce Protector Extension installed. This integration is currently supported with EAA HTTP Applications.

Follow these steps for this integration:
Setup the integration environment
Contact Akamai support to set up the integration environment:
- Link your AWP tenant to your EAA tenant.
- Link an EAA Cloud Zone with AWP integration capability to your EAA tenant.
Add Akamai Workforce Protector Browser extension
You must have the Akamai Workforce Protector (formerly LayerX) browser extension added to the machines in your organization. Refer to LayerX Deployment guide for more details on selecting the operating system and supported browsers.
Enable Akamai Workforce Protector for your application
To enable Akamai Workforce Protector for your HTTP application:

Log in to Enterprise Center.

In the Enterprise Center navigation menu, select Application Access > Applications > Applications.

Click the HTTP (Web) application for which you want to enable the Akamai Workforce Protector option.

Click the Advanced tab.

Click Enable Akamai Workforce Protector

Click Save and Deploy. For the Deploy Confirmation modal, provide a confirmation message. Click Deploy. The changes are saved and deployed.
Verify application access succeeds with AWP
When you access the HTTP application in a web browser that has Akamai Workforce Protector (formerly LayerX) browser extension installed it succeeds.
When you access the HTTP application in a web browser that does not have the Akamai Workforce Protector (formerly LayerX) browser extension installed, this error message is shown:
Add DLP Policies
In addition, for EAA HTTP applications you can add data loss prevention (DLP) policies at the browser level to:
- Prevent copy/paste of files
- Prevent upload/download of files
- Prevent taking screenshots and printing of files
- Add watermarks to sensitive content
- Masking of sensitive data
and set up alerts for any violations using Akamai Workforce Protector (formerly LayerX). For more details refer to Policies in LayerX documentation.
