Create favorite applications

Move commonly used applications to favorites for quick-access in the EAA Login Portal. Your organization can have many applications associated with an identity provider (IdP). Employees may use some applications more frequently than others. User1 may frequently use application1, application2, application3, while user2 may use application1 and application5 more frequently than others. If you enable tagging favorite applications in an IdP, each user can customize their own EAA Login Portal. User simply moves frequently used applications to the favorites section of the Login Portal. Favorites work also on mobile devices or tablets.

When tagging favorite applications is enabled, application cards have the favorites icon (red hollow heart) visible. After user clicks the favorites icon to tag it as favorite, the favorites icon changes to full red heart.

When tagging favorite applications is disabled, application cards do not have favorites icon visible, and cannot be tagged as favorite by users. If you do not enable tagging favorite applications in the IdP, users cannot move any of the applications associated with this IdP to favorites section.

Tagging favorite applications also works with application categories. Applications tagged as favorite in each of the categories appear in the Favorites section of each category. They are also in the Favorites section of the All category.

Enable favorite icon

Enable tagging favorite applications for users.

Adds the favorite icon to all applications associated with the IdP by setting the enable favoriting applications in the IdP advanced settings.

  1. Log in to Enterprise Center.

  2. In the Enterprise Center navigation menu, select Application Access > Identity & Users > Identity Providers.

  3. Select the identity provider that you want to configure.

  4. In Settings > Advanced select Enable favoriting applications.
    The favorites icon (red hollow heart) appears on application cards associated with this IdP.

  5. Click Save.

  6. Deploy the identity provider.

Enable favorite icon for a third-party IdP

Enable favorite icon for applications associated with a third-party IdP.

Prerequisites:

  1. Log in to Enterprise Center.

  2. In the Enterprise Center navigation menu, select Application Access > Identity & Users > Identity Providers.

  3. Select the identity provider that you want to configure.

  4. In Settings > Advanced select Enable favoriting applications.

  5. Select Enable authorization. This enables EAA to authorize user on behalf of the third party IdP. Also, it allows EAA application portal to be used for IdPs that do not have a user portal.
    The favorites icon (red hollow heart) appears on application cards associated with this IdP.

  6. Click Save.

  7. Deploy the identity provider.

Tag applications as favorites in EAA Login Portal

  1. Log in to the EAA Login Portal with your Active Directory (AD) credentials. By default, all the applications are shown in the Applications > All. No applications are present in the Favorites.

  2. From the application cards, select the application card with the favorite icon and click it.
    The application moves to Favorites. The favorite icon changes to a full red heart.

  3. Click OK.
    The application is added to the favorites section.

Remove applications from favorites in EAA Login Portal

  1. Log in to the EAA Login Portal with your Active Directory (AD) credentials. All favorite applications are in the Applications > Favorites.

  2. From the application cards, select the application card with the favorite icon (full read heart) and click it.
    The application moves to All. The favorite icon changes to a red hollow heart.

  3. Click OK.
    The application is removed from the favorites section.
