EAA Client reports and EAA Client logs

As the administrator of your organization can manage your enterprise applications, clients, and users with use of the EAA Client reporting capabilities for a tenant. You can get an overview of clients, view statistics, or discover the applications within your organization.

Clients overview

There are many applications used by the employees of your company associated with the EAA Client. You can get a snapshot view of the total number of clients, applications, and users of the organization. You can also get statistics about the most frequently accessed five applications, and the operating systems used by the users.

Client overview

The CLIENTS count is the total number of EAA Client installations on all the computers and mobile devices in the organization. If a user has three devices with EAA Client installed on all of them, then the CLIENTS count is three for this one user. The USERS count is the total number of users using the client-access applications.

Preset reports show a different count for unique users since that includes client-less applications.

When the EAA Client is upgraded to 2.1.0 or later releases, devices are associated with a new device ID (akamai-device-id). The EAA Client Overview dashboard includes the old device ID (akamai-device-id) resulting in inaccurate statistics until the old device ID is purged after 90 days. You can check the EAA Client version by opening the EAA Client on your computer. Also see Device ID updates with EAA Client installation and upgrades.

  1. Log in to the EAA Management Portal.

  2. In the EAA Management Portal navigation menu, select Clients.
    OVERVIEW information is displayed.

  3. To select a date range click the calendar or select a predefined time frame (from Yesterday to Last year).

  4. Click Apply.

Create EAA Client report

Get statistics for each client within your organization, including device ID, username, client version, OS, IdP host, and when the device was last checked in.

  1. Log in to EAA Management Portal.

  2. In the EAA Management Portal navigation menu, select Clients > MANAGE CLIENTS.

  3. To select a date range click the calendar or select a predefined time frame (from Yesterday to Last year).
    You can get the Last Checked-in statistics for each EAA Management Portal. It shows which user logged in last into the EAA Management Portal, when the login happened, and what was the version of the operating system of the user's computer.

The Device ID identifies each EAA Management Portal and is used only to debug.

Discover applications

This feature lets you to obtain statistics for all of the applications associated with your clients within your organization. The EAA Management Portal provides the capability to discover different applications used the users associated with the tenant. You can use this information to provide access or disable access to some groups within your company. For more information, see how to set up services for applications. You can see additional information for an application, like its fully qualified domain name (FQDN), port, protocol, number of times accessed, number of users, number of EAA Management Portal(number of devices), time of the last access, or the status of the application.

  1. Log in to EAA Management Portal.

  2. In the EAA Management Portal navigation menu, select Clients > DISCOVERED APPS.
    All applications discovered are displayed, from the most accessed to the least accessed application.

  3. To get more information about the user click the icon in the FQDN column to expand it.
    It shows the number of users and devices.

  4. Click on the number next to USERS.
    It shows user's name, process ID, process path, and last accessed data.

EAA Client run logs

When EAA Management Portal runs on the user's computer, it saves logs. Location of the saved logs is listed below.

  • Windows computer locations:

C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\EAAClient\logs\activity.log
  • MacOs computer locations:

$HOME/Library/Application Support/EAAClient/logs/activity.log

You can also save and send logs.

EAA Client installation logs

When EAA Client installs on the user's computers, it create logs. The location of the logs differs based on the user's operating system, and on installation mode - manual, or automated installation with a tool like System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).

  • Windows computer locations:
    To find the temp folder on Windows, type %temp% in the Run window, and click OK.

    • If an automated tool like System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) was used for the installation, the bitrock_installer.txt file may be located in C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Local\Temp\bitrock_installer*.

    • if EAA Client was installed by the user, try C:\Windows\temp directory.

Collect all the files that start with the names bitrock_installer*, EAA*, eaa*.
