Modify a rate policy action.

Description

Updates the actions in a rate policy.

When making a request, you can specify a configuration with the -ConfigName or -ConfigID parameter.

The -VersionNumber parameter is an integer or the word latest.

To specify a policy, use the -PolicyName or -PolicyID parameter.

Parameters

‑AccountSwitchKey

An account credential key that lets you move between accounts when using an API client enabled for multiple accounts. To find account switch keys, use Get-AccountSwitchKey.

‑ConfigID
Conditionally required

Your configuration's ID.

‑ConfigName
Conditionally required

The name of your security configuration.

‑EdgeRCFile

Your EdgeGrid resource file to authenticate your command. Defaults to ~/.edgerc.

‑IPv4Action
Required

The IPv4 action to assign to this rate policy. Possible values are:

  • monitor. Reports the request and halts further evaluation
  • delay. Waits 1-3 seconds before responding
  • slow. Waits 8-10 seconds before responding
  • deny. Blocks the request
  • tarpit. Keeps the connection open but does not respond
  • none. No action taken
  • deny_custom_{id}. Applies your custom deny action
‑IPv6Action
Required

The IPv4 action to assign to this rate policy.

Bot Manager policy actions:

  • monitor. Reports the request and halts further evaluation.

  • delay. Waits 1-3 seconds before responding.

  • slow. Waits 8-10 seconds before responding.

  • deny. Blocks the request.

  • tarpit. Keeps the connection open but does not respond.

  • none. No action taken.

  • deny_custom_{id}. Applies your custom deny action.

  • cond_action. Acts based on customized criteria like client attributes, schedule, percent of traffic.

  • serve_alt. Serves different content from an alternate origin, cached pages, or fake content.

  • challenge. Inserts a CAPTCHA, cryptographic, or behavioral challenge.

    Web Application Firewall policy actions:

    • alert. Records the event trigger.
    • deny. Blocks the request.
    • deny_custom_{id}. Applies your custom deny action.
    • none. No action taken.
  • ‑PolicyID
    Conditionally required

    Your security policy's ID.

    ‑PolicyName
    Conditionally required

    The name of your security policy.

    ‑RatePolicyID
    Required

    Your rate policy's ID.

    ‑Section

    The section name in your EdgeGrid resource file to retrieve authentication credentials from. Defaults to default.

    ‑VersionNumber
    Required

    A configuration's version. Can be an integer or the word latest.
