Self-enroll your smartphone or tablet

Enroll your smartphone in the ​Akamai MFA​ service. With this setup, you can use your smartphone to respond to authentication challenges and obtain access to protected enterprise apps.

How to

  1. When you are redirected to ​Akamai MFA​, in the Set up Multi-factor Authentication dialog, click Enroll a Device.

  2. In Select a device to enroll, click ​Akamai MFA​.

  3. Download and install the ​Akamai MFA​ mobile app.

    • If you are displaying the Set up Multi-factor Authentication dialog on your desktop or laptop, click Text me a link. This sends a text message with the link to your mobile device. On your mobile device, click the link, which redirects you to the App Store (for iPhone) or Google Play Store (for Android). Next, download and install the ​Akamai MFA​ app.

    • If you're on your smartphone, click App Store (for iPhone) or Google Play Store (for Android). This redirects you to the respective service page where you can download and install the ​Akamai MFA​ app.

If the ​Akamai MFA​ app download and install from Google Play Store on your mobile device is taking longer than normal, go to Settings > Apps and make sure you have no pending installations or updates. If there are any pending installations, either cancel them or wait for them to complete. This will let you proceed and complete the installation of the ​Akamai MFA​ mobile app.

  1. Activate your trusted authentication device.

    • If you are displaying the Set up Multi-factor Authentication dialog on your desktop or laptop device, click Scan Registration Code on your smartphone.

      i. Scan the QR code.

    • If you're on your smartphone, open the QR code reader in the ​Akamai MFA​ mobile app.

      i. Click Enter code manually

      ii. Select ​Akamai MFA​.

      iii. Enter the verification code and click Submit.

Now that you've enrolled your smartphone, you can use the ​Akamai MFA​ mobile app on your device to respond to authentication challenges.
