Security Connector as a sinkhole always requires two interfaces. This setting does not modify the number of interfaces for the sinkhole.

The number of interfaces you select determines how the en1 and en2 interfaces behave. The following applies:

  • If you select one interface, the en1 interface is used for inbound and outbound traffic, while the en2 interface is used for the Web Console only.
  • If you select two interfaces, the en1 interface is used for incoming traffic, while the en2 interface is used for outbound traffic. With two interfaces, the Web Console is part of the en1 interface.

To select one or two interfaces for Security Connector data:

  1. In the Security Connector console menu, press 8 or or use the arrow keys to select Advanced and press Enter.

  2. Press 2 or use the arrow keys to select Configure incoming and outgoing interfaces and press Enter.

  3. Press C to edit the number of interfaces.

  4. Type yes and press Enter to toggle the value. If there is one interface, this step changes the number of interfaces to two. If there are two interfaces, this step changes the number of interfaces to one.

    The Security Connector reboots.

Next Steps
Configure the en1 and en2 interfaces, as well the DNS name servers. For more information, see Configure the en2 interface, Configure the en1 interface, and Configure DNS name servers.
