Clone a disk

Copies a disk, byte-for-byte, into a new disk on the same Linode. The operation fails if the target doesn't have enough storage space. A Linode can have up to 50 disks.

Permissions and scopes

To call this operation, you need permissions, based on the model you're using:

  • Identity and access permissions. Your user needs a role with these permissions. Learn more.

    • Permissions: clone_linode_disk

  • OAuth scopes. Your user needs these scopes assigned. Learn more.

    • Scopes: linodes:read_write
