Delivery Manager is Akamai’s next generation delivery configuration system. It lets developers and operation teams manage CDN configurations using multi-environment development, granular rule control, and version control with flexible, configurable components.

EdgeWorkers currently supports Delivery Manager when you use Ion as your delivery product. If you set up Ion using Delivery Manager, any EdgeWorker IDs you create using that configuration:

Will display the Delivery Manager environment and workspace where it was created.
Will require an additional check to delete an EdgeWorker ID. This is to ensure that there are no active environments linked to the EdgeWorker ID that you want to delete.

Contact your account manager to set up one or more contracts that allow you to configure services in Delivery Manager.

API updates for Delivery Manager

For this Beta release you can use the EdgeWorkers API to:

List environments where an existing EdgeWorker is attached. You can limit the results to environments where a version is active on the production, staging network.
Get EdgeWorker behavior locations for an environment version to view all the JSON Pointer locations in the rule sets where an EdgeWorker is configured within a specific environment version.

Product limits for EdgeWorkers and Delivery Manager

The following EdgeWorkers features are not supported when you use Delivery Manager as your configuration system.

Qualified Computing Partner products.
DataStream CDN metrics are currently not available for EdgeWorkers and all other Akamai delivery products with Delivery Manager.
