Use this guide to get up and running with your free trial of Image and Video Manager.

Configure Ion for image or video delivery

The first step in preparing for your free trial is configuration of the Akamai delivery product, Ion. Ion pairs with Image and Video Manager to deliver your images and videos quickly. Ion also allows you to control multiple advanced settings, including caching. Ion is provided free to you as part of the Image and Video Manager trial.

To complete these steps, you will need the free trial credentials that were emailed to you.

  1. Follow the link in the free trial registration email and sign in using the credentials provided.

  2. Review the terms and conditions for use of Ion. If you agree, select the “I accept the Terms and Conditions” checkbox.

  3. Complete the step-by-step setup of Ion via the Onboard and Configuration Assistant. For detailed instructions, see Set up Adaptive Acceleration.

Add Image and Video Manager from Marketplace

Once Ion is configured, add Image and Video Manager from Marketplace.

  1. Navigate to Marketplace in Akamai Control Center.

  2. Find the product you wish to add (Image and Video Manager - Images or Image and Video Manager - Videos) by typing “Image and Video Manager” in the Filter search bar, or by selecting the “Image Management (Images & Video)” tile.

If you intend to use Image and Video Manager to optimize both images and videos, you will need to add both products.

  1. Click Learn More for the product you wish to add.

    The free trial page appears.

  2. On the Trial Details page, click Try to begin your trial.

  3. Review the terms and conditions. If you agree, select the “I accept the Terms and Conditions” checkbox, then click Start Trial.

  4. Integrate Image and Video Manager into the delivery property that was configured in the previous section. For instructions, see Connect your images and videos.
