Incompatible products and features
Certain Akamai products may affect how images appear on your website, despite your Image and Video Manager policies and settings.
If you use any of these products, review this guidance before you get started with Image and Video Manager.
Image Converter
Image Converter is not compatible with Image and Video Manager and must be disabled for Image and Video Manager to work.
Application Load Balancer
Application Load Balancer is not compatible with Image and Video Manager and must be disabled for Image and Video Manager to work.

Phased Release is not compatible with Image and Video Manager and must be disabled for Image and Video Manager to work.

Kona Site Defender / App and API Protector
Kona Site Defender / App and API Protector are compatible with Image and Video Manager. However, if the rate controls for any firewall policies are set to Deny, they could block the image server.
All of your rate policies must allowlist Image and Video Manager server IPs. If you have existing rate policies in use, edit them before you enable Image and Video Manager. When you do so, or when you create a new rate policy, go to the Match Criteria section, click Add, select Network List and does not match, and then select the Image and Video Manager Servers network list. Refer to the Kona Site Defender product documentation for specific configuration instructions.
If the IVM-targeted objects require authentication, such as Basic Authentication, the Image Manager servers will return an error to the edge servers because authentication headers are not forwarded by the Image Manager servers. This will result in an Origin Error Rate Control issue, which can't be resolved by the solution mentioned above.
