Troubleshoot failed authentication

Here, we discuss some reasons you may receive the Failed authentication error.

Missing username and password

You publish a stream for a stream ID, but you did not configure a username and password for the stream ID. This results in the error message Failed authentication because the user name and password are missing. You need to configure both the username and password because the system does not allow empty passwords.

IP ACL check failed

For example, if the ingest server per stream allows only the IP address 1.1.1.1 to ingest streams and you publish a stream with a different IP address, the ACL check fails and the Failed authentication error appears.

Incorrect username or password

The Failed authentication error appears when you enter an incorrect username or password.
