Hostname set version

Create and manage the settings applied to your hostname sets.

Note: You can make changes to a hostname set version until it's activated. Once activated, any changes made increment the version.

Arguments

Provide details about your hostnames to create a new set version.

ArgumentRequiredDescription
hostnames✔️Lists hostnames within a set that share the same edge hostname, TLS, and certificate settings. Contains:
  • hostname. Required. A fully qualified domain name that resolves requests from a client to the Akamai edge server and identifies traffic rules.
  • certificate_configuration. Required. Certificate-related settings for a hostname set or individual hostname overrides. Contains:
    • cert_provisioning_type. Required. Sets how to verify and manage a domain's identity. Value is one of:
      • CPS_MANAGED for certificates created with the Certificate Provisioning System API.
      • DEFAULT for automatically created default domain validation certificates.
Note: Hostnames with the akamaized.net domain suffix require use of the CPS_MANAGED option.
  • edge_hostname_configuration. Required. Sets individual service hostname overrides. Contains:
    • edge_hostname_type. Required. The edge hostname type to assign to your hostnames. Value is one of:
      • PER_HOSTNAME. Assigns a new edge hostname to each service hostname separately.
      • STANDARD. Shares a single edge hostname across all hostnames within a set.
      • OTHER. Allows you to specify a custom edge hostname.
    • edge_hostname. A service hostname with its Akamai-specific suffix related to a security level for client-to-edge traffic.
    • https_binding. A DNS record that binds a collection of endpoint metadata for use when establishing a connection to a named service.

The record's Application-Layer Protocol Negotiation attribute informs clients of supported protocols in advance, reducing connection round trips. Value is one of:

      • H3 for HTTP/3 (QUIC).
      • H2 for HTTP/2.
      • H2_H3
    • ipv6. When set to true, the service hostname supports IP protocol version 6.
    • suffix. An Akamai-specific suffix related to a security level for client-to-edge traffic. Value is one of: edgesuite.net for Standard TLS or edgekey.net for Enhanced TLS.
  • secure_network. The protection level for your service hostnames. Value is one of:
    • ENHANCED_TLS. Provides high-assurance security for PCI/FedRAMP compliance, supports custom and older non-SNI clients, and is mandatory for high-security sites.
    • STANDARD_TLS. Provides secure, efficient delivery for general content using SNI, is ISO/SOX compliant, and supports general web traffic.
default_settingsThe inherited settings for each service hostname in your set. Contains:
  • certificate_configuration. Required. Certificate-related settings for a hostname set or individual hostname overrides. Contains:
    • cert_provisioning_type. Required. Sets how to verify and manage a domain's identity. Value is one of:
      • CPS_MANAGED for certificates created with the Certificate Provisioning System API.
      • DEFAULT for automatically created default domain validation certificates.
Note: Hostnames with the akamaized.net domain suffix require use of the CPS_MANAGED option.

hostname_set_nameA service hostname set's name.
target_dev_test_environmentsA list of environments with a DEV_TEST profile that serves traffic for testing.
target_environmentThe environment with the PRODUCTION profile that serves live traffic to your hostname set.
workspace_nameA workspace name.

Attributes

Returned is your hostname set's version number.
