View widget settings

mPulse provides preconfigured widgets that you can add to your custom dashboards. Widgets are completely customizable and easy to use. Widget settings are viewable and editable from the combined dashboard and widget edit panel.

Before you begin

mPulse system dashboard settings are not viewable or editable. Either clone or make a copy of the system dashboard first, then view or edit the widget settings.

  1. In mPulse, click Central.

  2. In the left pane, select Dashboards.

  3. From the list, double-click the custom dashboard with the widget that you want to view.

  4. At the right corner of the widget, click the gear menu, then select Edit to open the editing panel.

View widget settings

  1. In the left pane, click Widget.

  2. Use these settings to manage and customize your widgets. When you're finished, click Apply to save your changes.

General. These settings let you specify basic information about the widget.

  • Show title bar. Displays the widgets title. Deselect the checkbox to hide the title.
  • Title. The widget name. You can edit this if you want to.
  • Color. Displays the selected color in the widget's title. Enter a hexadecimal code for a custom color in the text field.
  • Show widget borders and background. Toggles the widget borders and background on or off.
  • Height:sets the height of the widget. Select from these options; mPulse default, choose pixels or percentage, a fixed aspect ratio, or use remaining space to expand the widget in the dashboard.
  • Theme. Sets the color for the chart series. Click the theme's name (for example, Default), then select the button for the color theme that you want to use for your chart series. The series cycles through the remaining colors in the theme.
  • Show X axis grid lines. Sets the x-axis grid. Select the checkbox to show vertical grid lines in the widget.
  • Linked Dashboard. Turns the widget title into an active link to the dashboard you select. For example, you can select the App Error List dashboard from the list for quick access to error analysis from the widget.

Filter. These settings let you specify and tailor the filters that appear in the dashboard filter toolbar.

Note

If you have custom metrics defined in mPulse such as revenue and conversion, use the attribute menu to select and display them in the dashboard. mPulse provides built-in system metrics, timers, and dimensions.
Attribute values appear at the widget level for each widget that accepts timers, metrics or dimensions.

  • Apply all the following criteria. Displays all of the selected data attributes in the dashboard. Deselect the checkbox to hide the attributes in the dashboard.

  • Display filter toolbar. Displays all of the filters in the dashboard's filter toolbar for the attributes listed. Deselect the checkbox to hide the filters.

  • Add all filters. Displays all available filters. Deselect the checkbox for the filter that you do not want to see on the dashboard filter toolbar.

Individual widget settings. You can select a different chart type (line, bar, area, scatter and pie), show data point markers in the chart, and control the behavior of the Y axis. To view and edit these settings, make sure the widget is highlighted in the dashboard, then click the widget in Contained Widgets menu.
