Go Live in AMD with MSL5 origin

Associate the MSL5 origin hostname with an Adaptive Media Delivery (AMD) property configuration to facilitate content delivery.

Follow these steps to set up a new AMD property for your MSL5 configuration.

  1. Go to ☰ > CDN > Properties, and then click New Property.

  2. Use the top-right menu in the header to select the appropriate Control Center account (one with access to the applicable product).

  3. In the Property Name field, enter a desired name for the AMD property. This serves two purposes:

    • The filename for the property.
    • How the property appears in the Property Manager UIs within Control Center.
  4. Set the Origin Server behavior options:

Origin TypeSelect “Your Origin” from the drop-down menu.
Origin Server HostnameEnter the “Primary origin hostname” of the MSL5 Origin to which the CDN connects.
Forward Host HeaderSelect "Origin Hostname" from the drop-down menu.
  5. Set the Segmented Media Delivery Mode behavior options:

ModeSelect “Live” from the drop-down menu.
Enable ULL StreamingIf selecting the “Live” mode, you can enable low-latency streaming for both DASH and HLS streams. The configuration steps vary for each live stream format:
DASH: Configure low latency for DASH streams delivered via AMD to reduce latency and transfer times.
HLS: Configure low latency for HLS streams using the Enable Low Latency (LL-HLS) setting.
Show Advanced OptionsKeep this slider toggled “Off” by default.
  6. In the Origin Characteristics behavior, configure G2O Authentication in Akamai AMD, if applicable.

  7. Specify the desired match criteria and parameters for the Cache Key Query Parameters behavior.

  8. Save the property.
