Create a storage connection for exports
After creating a storage connection, you can export clipped events to that destination and initiate, monitor, or cancel exports of time‑bounded clipped events.
Follow these steps to create a new storage connection:
- Log in to your MSL5 account and select ☰ > Export Storage.
- Click on the Add connection button.
- In the Connection name field, enter a name for the storage connection. This must be unique across all storage connections.
- From the Contract drop-down menu, select the contract being charged for the stream.
- From the Group drop-down menu, select the appropriate group with user access and visibility to the stream (e.g., read/write permissions).
- In the Linode object storage endpoint field, specify the external Linode object storage endpoint used to store the exported clipped events. Use the following format,
<bucket>.<region>.linodeobjects.comFor example,clips-export-bucket.us-org-10.linodeobjects.com - In the Folder field, specify a folder path in the bucket to store the exported clipped events.
- In the Access key field, enter the Access Key ID for the Linode object storage connection.
- In the Secret key field, enter the Secret Access Key for the Linode object storage connection.
- Click Validate and Confirm.
After creating an MSL5 stream, you can export clipped events according to the preconfigured storage connection. Refer to Export clipped events to a storage connection for more information.
