Export clipped events to a storage connection

After creating an MSL5 stream, you can export clipped events from the archive to external object storage. (Akamai Linode Object Storage is supported).

You need to establish a storage connection for the event exports. Once the storage connection is configured, you can export clipped events to that destination and start, monitor, or cancel exports of time‑bounded clipped events. If not configured, go to the Export storage to create a new storage connection.

📘

  • Event export is currently available for primary streams only. The Linode object storage configured in the storage connection must be in the same region as the primary stream origin.
  • Each export session can run for a maximum duration of 12 hours.
  • Each account can run up to 2 concurrent export sessions.
  • Each stream supports event export throughput of up to 100 Mb/s.

Follow these steps to export an event:

  1. On the MSL5 main page, locate your stream in the list of streams.

  2. From the Events section at the bottom, click on the desired event with the status “Ended”.

    📘

The export is available only after the event ends.

  3. On the Event details pop-up, scroll to the Export section at the bottom.

  4. Select the preconfigured Storage connection from the drop-down menu where the clipped event will be exported.

  5. Click on the Export button to start exporting clipped events.

    📘

Use the Export History table to monitor or cancel “In Progress” exports of clipped events.
