Enable DNS hijacking detection

Complete this procedure to enable DNS hijacking detection.

Before you begin:

Make sure you apply general settings. For instructions, see Apply general settings.

To enable DNS hijacking detection:

1. From the Control Center menu, click Security > Security analytics > Infrastructure Security Analytics. The dashboard for Infrastructure Security Analytics appears.
2. Go to the zone where you want to enable DNS hijacking detection. If you need to filter the list of zones, see Filter list of zones.
3. In the Actions menu, select Zone Settings.
4. In the zone settings window, go to the DNS Hijacking tab.
5. Select a domain to monitor for DNS hijacking. You can select domains that are an A record type only.
6. Enable the DNS Hijacking toggle.

   📘

   This toggle is disabled if the zone does not contain an A, AKAMAICDN, or AKAMAITLC record, or the account has reached the limit of zones for this feature.

7. Set an expiration date for this setting. Click the date and select an expiration date from the calendar. Make sure you set a time of day and a time zone. You can set a date up to one year in the future. If you also enabled NXDOMAIN spike detection or dangling CNAME detection, this expiration date also applies to those settings.
8. Click Apply
9. Click Confirm.
