Remote proxy

This guide explains how to configure Guardicore Platform Agent when using a forward proxy within your organization's network. Many organizations employ forward proxy servers to manage internet access for their employees. These servers typically handle tasks like authentication, web filtering, and then route traffic to the internet.
If Guardicore Platform Agent is installed on machines within such an environment, your organization needs to configure the agent to forward all Access traffic through the existing forward proxy before reaching the Enterprise Application Access (EAA) Cloud.

Before you begin

Specify your secure web proxy (HTTPS) in your OS:

Set up remote proxy in Guardicore Platform Agent

  1. Click the Guardicore Platform Agent icon in the Windows desktop toolbar or the macOS menu bar.
  2. In the Guardicore Platform Agent window, click Settings.
  3. In the Settings pane, enable Remote Proxy.
  4. Enter your proxy credentials: Username, Password and Domain.
  5. Click OK.
The details of your proxy connection are now displayed in the agent.

To learn more about remote proxy, refer to the EAA Client proxy documentation.

On-premises network

This section describes how to configure Guardicore Platform Agent for direct access to enterprise applications over your on-premises network, bypassing the EAA Cloud when applicable.

When to use on-premises access

If you are connected to an on-premises network and your Identity Provider (IdP) supports it, enabling On-premises lets you directly access your enterprise applications. This bypasses the EAA Cloud, potentially reducing connection delays.
Disabling On-premises forces Guardicore Platform Agent to route traffic via the EAA Cloud, similar to connections from a public network.

Enable on-premises access

  1. Click the Guardicore Platform Agent icon in the Windows desktop tray bar or the macOS menu bar.
  2. In the Guardicore Platform Agent window, click Settings.
  3. In the Settings pane, enable On-premises.
To learn more about the on-premises feature, refer to the EAA documentation.
