Manage services
Guardicore Platform Agent lets you control your services and the agent's operational behavior. This document guides you through the process of managing the Access, Threat Protection, and Segmentation services. It also goes over actions such as syncing and resetting agent configurations, activating on-premises mode for enhanced local control, and configuring remote proxies for secure network connections.
Manage Access
Follow this guide to learn how to enable or disable Access in Akamai Guardicore Platform Agent.
- Click the Guardicore Platform Agent icon in the Windows desktop tray bar or the macOS menu bar.
- In the Guardicore Platform Agentwindow, click Settings.
- In the Settings pane, toggle Access.
- If you are disabling Access, the agent prompts you to confirm your decision before access is disabled. If you have unsaved work, be sure to save it before disabling Access. This action terminates all connections to your organization's applications and resources.
- If you are enabling Access, your default browser window opens, directing you to the Identity Provider (IdP) login portal. If your credentials are stored in cookies, you are automatically authenticated. Otherwise, authenticate using your single sign-on (SSO) credentials.
Reset Access
This guide explains how to reset your Access configuration in Akamai Guardicore Platform Agent. Resetting Access removes your existing Identity Provider (IdP) configuration, letting you switch to a different IdP or start fresh with a new configuration. If you have unsaved work, be sure to save it before resetting Access. This action terminates all connections to your organization's applications and resources.
This action doesn't reset your Threat Protection configuration.
- Click the Guardicore Platform Agent icon in the Windows desktop tray bar or the macOS menu bar.
- In the Guardicore Platform Agentwindow, click Settings.
- In the Settings pane, click Reset Authentication.
- In the confirmation dialog, click Apply.
- In the Enable Access dialog, enter your organization's Identity Provider Hostname (IdP).
- Click Apply.
- Your default web browser opens, directing you to your organization's IdP login page. Complete the authentication process using your single sign-on (SSO) credentials.
Manage Threat Protection

Your administrator may restrict the ability to disable Threat Protection indefinitely.

Manage Segmentation
To control the Segmentation Agent in Guardicore Platform Agent, refer to the available CLI commands in the Guardicore Segmentation documentation (requires Akamai Control Center login):
Manage Guardicore Platform Agent using the tray bar (Windows) or menu bar (macOS) status icon
Right-click the Guardicore Platform Agent icon in your system tray bar or menu bar to open the contextual menu. From the contextual menu, you can open the agent window, authenticate, log out, and close the agent.
Exiting the agent or logging out may render your organization's applications and resources unavailable until you authenticate again. Be sure to save your work before closing the client or logging out.
Force sync the agent
To ensure that the Guardicore Platform Agent has the latest configuration settings from Enterprise Center, you can manually trigger an immediate update. This is helpful if you're experiencing issues or want to be sure that your device reflects the most recent changes.
Guardicore Platform Agent syncs with Enterprise Center every five minutes.
- Click the Guardicore Platform Agent icon in the Windows desktop tray bar or the macOS menu bar.
- In the Guardicore Platform Agent window, click Settings.
