Configure Guardicore Platform Agent

When you first install or reset ​Akamai​ Guardicore Platform Agent, you need to connect it to your service provider. This is a simple setup process that uses the configuration wizard. If you'd like to set up the agent using command line parameters, see Silent installation.

If you are migrating from the ETP Client, Guardicore Platform Agent retains and applies your local ETP configuration automatically.

Configure Guardicore Platform Agent using your IdP hostname

This guide explains how to configure Guardicore Platform Agent using your organization's identity provider (IdP). This configuration enables both Access and Threat Protection, where applicable.

How to

  1. Click the Guardicore Platform Agent icon in the Windows desktop toolbar or macOS menu bar.
  2. In the Guardicore Platform Agent application window, click Enroll Client .
  3. In the configuration wizard, enter your organization's identity provider (IdP) hostname.
  4. Click Authenticate to open your default browser and access your organization's IdP login portal.
  5. Use your SSO credentials to log into the IdP portal.
  6. Once logged in, click Configure. Upon successful configuration, a confirmation message displaying the current date and timestamp appears.
  7. Click OK to finalize the process. The Guardicore Platform Agent tray bar status icon changes from Unauthenticated to Authenticated. The agent displays updated status:
    • Access: Authenticated
    • DNS Firewall: Protected

Configure Guardicore Platform Agent using your SIA entitlement or activation code

This guide explains how to configure Guardicore Platform Agent using your SIA entitlement or activation code. This configuration enables Threat Protection only. If you have both EAA and SIA licenses available, activate the agent using your organization’s IdP hostname.

How to

  1. Click the Guardicore Platform Agent icon in the Windows desktop toolbar or macOS menu bar.
  2. In the Guardicore Platform Agent application window, click Enroll Client .
  3. In the configuration wizard, enter the client activation code you received from your IT administrator or your entitlement code.

The activation code is case sensitive. You need to enter the code as shown in the email or in the form that it appeared when it was generated by administrators.

  1. Click Activate to finalize the process.
    The Guardicore Platform Agent tray bar status icon changes from Not Protected to Protected. The agent displays updated status:
    • DNS Firewall: Protected

Configure Guardicore Platform Agent using your email address

This guide explains how to configure Guardicore Platform Agent using your email address. This configuration enables Threat Protection only. If you have both EAA and SIA licenses available, activate the agent using your organization’s IdP hostname.

How to

  1. Click the Guardicore Platform Agent icon in the Windows desktop toolbar or macOS menu bar.
  2. In the Guardicore Platform Agent application window, click Enroll Client .
  3. In the configuration wizard, enter your email address.
  4. Click Send Email Invitation to request an activation code.
  5. Check your inbox for an invite email with a one-time authentication code.
  6. Back in the configuration wizard window, click Enter activation code.
  7. Enter the one-time activation code you received.
