Manage data centers
A data center is a location containing one or more servers to which GTM directs traffic.
Create new data center

Log in to Control Center.

Go to ☰ > DNS SOLUTIONS > Global Traffic Management. The Traffic Management Domains page opens.

On the Traffic Management Domains page, select the domain for which you want to create a data center. The Edit Domain Settings page appears.

Click Data Centers to add a new data center. The Data Centers page opens.

On the Data Centers tab, click Add New Data Center. The Add Data Center form opens. The Add New Data Center button is enabled only if the domain is not a performance plus domain, and you have Add and Edit domain rights.

Fill in the Data Center Information and Location fields. Checking the Cloud Server Targeting option enables you to you balance traffic load between two or more servers in a cloud environment. Filling in the City field provides a menu to choose from if a city's name is found in more than one state or country, and automatically fills in the State, Country, Latitude, and Longitude fields.

Fill in the Default Load Object fields.

Load Object. A file that provides real-time information on the current, maximum allowable, and target load on each resource. This file can be either XML or non-XML.

If Load Feedback isn't enabled for the domain, the *Default Load Object fields don't display.

Click Add to Change List. The Add Data Center form opens. A green check mark in the list of data center names indicates that the data center is added.

Click the Review Change List button. The Review Change List Detail dialog appears.

Review the Change List Detail dialog changes, validate them, add a required comment, and click Activate Domain to save them. The Traffic Management Domains page opens.

Clone data center

On the Traffic Management Domains page, select the domain for which you want to clone a data center. The Edit Domain Settings page appears.

Click Data Centers to add a new data center. The Data Centers page opens.

Highlight the data center you want to clone, and under the Actions column, select Clone. The cloned data center automatically appears with a green check mark next to it.

To delete a clone from the data center, select Delete from the gear icon in the Actions column. The deleted clone has a red delete indicator icon next to it and is crossed out.

Click Review Change List. The Review Change List Detail dialog opens.

Review the Review Change List Detail dialog changes, validate them, add a required comment, and click Activate Domain to save them.

Delete data center

On the Traffic Management Domains page, select the domain from which you want to delete a data center. The Edit Domain Settings page appears.

Click Data Centers to delete a new data center. The Data Centers page appears.

Highlight the data center you want to delete, click the ellipsis icon under Actions and select Delete.
The deleted data center has a delete indicator icon next to it and is crossed out.
To undo the deletion of a data center, click the ellipsis under Actions and select Undo Delete. The data center reappears with a green check mark next to it.
You cannot delete a data center if a property is using it. You also cannot delete a data center until the associated clones are deleted.

Click Review Change List. The Review Change List Detail dialog appears.

Review the Change List Detail dialog changes, validate them, add a required comment, and click Activate Domain to save them.
