Client to edge

Use these tools to investigate issues that occur between a client and Akamai edge servers.

Tool	Use this tool to:
User Diagnostic Data	Collect diagnostic data from users accessing a URL or IP acceleration hostname who experience similar issues.
Translate Error String	Fetch an error summary and edge logs using a reference code or a Global Request Number (GRN) generated by the Property Manager Global Request Number behavior.

Edge

Use these tools collect data from Akamai edge servers and investigate content delivery issues.

Tool	Use this tool to:
Verify and Locate IP (combines Verify Akamai IP* and Locate IP tools)*	Verify whether an IP address belongs to the Akamai edge network and view network and location details.
View Logs (GREP)	Get traffic logs for an edge server IP address from the last 6 or 24 hours.
Get Error Statistics	Check error statistics, summaries, and logs for a URL or CP code based on traffic samples.
Metadata Tracer	Trace metadata for a URL configured in Property Manager.
ESI Debugger	Test and debug Edge Side Includes (ESI) code on a web page using its URL.

Edge to origin

Use these tools to investigate issues in traffic between edge servers and origin servers.

Tool	Use this tool to:
Request Content (CURL)	Get raw HTML and response headers from edge servers closest to a client location.
Test Network Connectivity (MTR)	Check for packet loss or latency between a specific source and destination. Also supports GTM hostnames.
Get Domain Details (DIG)	Get DNS details and troubleshoot domain name resolution issues for a hostname or domain name. Also supports GTM hostnames.

GTM

Use these tools to diagnose Global Traffic Management (GTM) issues.

Tool	Use this tool to:
Map Diff	Check changes between two maps for a given domain.
Data Center Diagnostics	View the top five autonomous systems and top five countries mapped to a data center as a percentage of estimated traffic.
IP Diagnostics	View mapping details for specific name servers in a Global Traffic Management property during a specified time interval.
