About the Edge IP Binding tool
Use this tool in Akamai Control Center to view your current Edge IP Binding configurations and in some cases, interact with them.
Use of this tool
Mainly, this tool lets you view your existing Edge IP Binding configurations and their specific settings. Your Akamai account representative can also use it to perform advanced management and editing operations. Take a look at the table below to better understand what you can and can't do with the Edge IP Binding tool.
Edge IP Binding task | Self serviceable? | Additional information |
---|---|---|
Get the Edge IP Binding addresses for your property | Yes | You can do this when viewing a specific configuration's details. |
View an Edge IP Binding configuration | Yes | N/A |
Create an Edge IP Binding configuration | No | You don't use the Edge IP Binding interface. You set it up using Property Manager. |
Edit an Edge IP Binding configuration | No | You need to work with your Akamai account representative to edit an existing configuration. |
Delete an Edge IP Binding configuration | No | You need to work with your Akamai account representative. They can help you fully delete the configuration or just deactivate it. |
Configure Hash Serial and Forward for Edge IP Binding | No | If you have a large footprint environment, you may be limited by the reduced number of IP addresses that Edge IP Binding's Anycast network use. You can add Hash Serial and Forward to address this. See Hash Serial and Forward for more information. |
Configure Autonomous System Number Split | Yes | By default when you enable Edge IP Binding for a Property Manager configuration, all requests for content need to incorporate Edge IP Binding and its associated network. Autonomous System Number Split lets you provide a list of eligible ASNs that should use Edge IP Binding, as well as an additional edge hostname that can be used to field all other (non-Edge IP Binding) requests. See Autonomous System Number Split for more information. |
