After you activated and tested your settings, CNAME over to ​Akamai​ and start serving live traffic on our network.

Before you begin

Ensure your site is working as expected by testing before and after this step.

You'll need to go to your DNS provider for this process. These instructions are a generic version of what you need to do. Steps will vary based on your specific DNS provider.

How to

1. In the Go live step of the wizard, copy the DNS CNAME entries we provide for you on screen.

2. Add them to your DNS zone. The DNS CNAME entries' TTL is set to 300 seconds, or 5 minutes.

3. Remove any text entries from your local hosts file you tested with during the Verify process.

4. Restart your browser and complete a smoke test of your website.

5. If you want, change the TTL from 300 seconds to what you typically use for your website.
