Alerts

Web Security Analytics enables you to create alerts that notify you on important events. Alerts are based on static filters and thresholds. When an alert triggers, the recipients you specified get an email notification, and can perform an analysis of the alert's cause in Web Security Analytics. Here are a couple of examples of how you can use alerts:

• Get notified when a large volume of requests are being denied by ​Akamai​'s web application firewall. This could be an attack, but it could also be that something in the application changed and legitimate users are being denied service. Timely alert notifications will help you understand the situation and resolve the issue faster.

• Get notified when a denial-of-service (DoS) attack is happening while your rate controls are still in alert mode. In this scenario, these attacks are reaching your origin, so quick action is required. Alerts help you respond rapidly.
