View and manage email groups

The Email groups widget provides a clear overview of all recipient groups configured for your application security alerts. You use this table to track where your notifications go and to manage the status of your distribution lists.

Email group details

The table organizes information for each group:

  • Group name. Displays the unique name you assigned to identify the recipient list.

  • Emails. Lists all individual email addresses included in the group.

  • Last modified. Shows the date and time of the most recent update to the group’s configuration.

  • Used in. Indicates the total number of alerts currently using this specific email group, regardless of whether these alerts are enabled or disabled.

  • Availability. Displays a toggle showing if the email group is active and ready for use. Turn this toggle on to make the group selectable in your alert menus, or turn it off to hide it from all alert configuration settings.

Hidden groups will not appear as selectable choices when configuring Web Security Analytics alerts.

You can turn this toggle off only if the group is not assigned to any alerts. To change the status of an email group to unavailable, its Used in count must be 0.

Manage email groups

If you have the relevant editing permission configured for your account, you can modify these groups using the All actions button:

  • Edit. Modify the group name or update the list of email addresses. Click Save for changes to take effect.
  • Delete. Permanently remove the email group from your account.
❗️

Reassign alerts before deleting or disabling an email group

To protect your alerting workflows, the system prevents you from deleting or disabling any email group currently in use, regardless of whether the associated alerts are enabled or disabled. You must first reassign all referencing alerts to a new destination.
