Configure Security Notification Settings

Security Notification Settings allows you to manage alert destinations for Web Security Analytics. You use this unified system to configure exactly how and where you receive communications, such as urgent attack alerts, to ensure they reach the platforms you use most.

While currently focused on Web Security Analytics, the Security Notification Settings dashboard is intended to expand as a centralized management tool for alerts across the application security portfolio.

Access Security Notification Settings

Currently, you can use Security Notification Settings to manage email and channel configurations for Web Security Analytics alerts only. You can access the dashboard by following these steps:

  1. Visit Akamai Control Center and log in with your name and password.
  2. Go to ☰ > Security > Security Analytics > Security Center > Tools > Security Notification Settings.

Configure your notification settings

While you define the specific triggers within the individual product settings, you use this dashboard to manage the delivery destinations:

  • Email groups. We recommend keeping groups small, targeting 1 to 5 email addresses, to ensure your recipient lists remain clean and easy to maintain. While the system supports up to 64 email addresses per group to maintain compatibility with legacy configurations, smaller groups are highly encouraged. Learn how to add and manage email groups.

Best practice

For optimal delivery speed and easier user management, we strongly recommend routing alerts to a centralized corporate distribution list (for example, soc-tier1@company.com rather than individual mailboxes.

  • Notification channels. You can set up integrations for third-party platforms like Slack, Microsoft Teams, Webex, Google Chat, and PagerDuty. Learn how to add and manage notification channels.

Configuring these settings ensures that you receive immediate updates when specific filters or thresholds are triggered.
