The maximum Custom Log Field size is now 1000 bytes (previously 128). See Log custom parameters in the user guide for details.

Now you can choose new data set fields with metrics related to Content protection information and Enhanced Proxy Detector. Use the new Edge attempts and File size bucket fields to track attempts to download content from the edge, and log response data. Check the full list of the Data set parameters you can log in the DataStream user guide.

Jan 9, 2023 – New cache data set field
The Cacheable data set field is now available for all products supported by DataStream 2. You can log it to check if the content is cacheable, and combine with other data set fields to get detailed data on caching.

The Breadcrumbs data set field is now available to log for the Dynamic Site Accelerator, Ion Standard, and API Acceleration products.
Sep 29, 2022 — Cloning streams, data set templates, last byte support

You can now conveniently clone existing streams using the new cloning wizard in the DataStream 2 application. See Clone a stream or go to DataStream in the Akamai Control Center.

Creating new streams in DataStream 2 is even more easier with data set templates. Save up to five templates per contract to keep your data set fields selection, and use it later to create new streams. See how to use this feature in the DataStream user guide.

Previously available only for Download Delivery products, the Last byte data set field is now enabled for all products you can integrate with DataStream 2. Check Features and use cases in the guide for the list of supported products.
Sep 28, 2022 — ChinaCDN support
DataStream 2 now supports log delivery for customer traffic served in China. Customers that use ChinaCDN for content delivery can now enjoy the same visibility for transactions in China that DataStream 2 already provides for the rest of the world.
Aug 29, 2022 — Stream ID and stream version as variables, stream ID as a data set, Postman collection available

Upload paths and log filename prefixes for object-based destinations now support the stream ID and stream version as variables. You can use this feature to group logs depending on the stream that gathers them. See Dynamic variables for details.

Stream ID is also the new data set field you can log in your stream for improved troubleshooting and sorting log files at your destination. Check Data set parameters for the complete list of data set fields you can log in DataStream 2.
