Access key access control

Access keys can only be associated with properties belonging to the same group.

When creating a new access key, you must select a contract and group. This controls who and what can access the access key. At the same time, you can only create new access keys for groups you have access to, meaning your permissions include " Cloud Access Manager - View and Edit". For more information, see Manage permissions.

If the group passed in the request is a subgroup of another group, then the access key is associated with the parent groups and all the way up to master group.

In Property Manager, you can only select an access key for a property if it is in the same group as the property.

Consider the group hierarchy where groups "B" and "C" are subgroups of group "A", groups "D" and "E" are subgroups of group "B", and groups "F" and "G" are subgroups of group "C":

• If you created an access key in group "A", that access key is associated with group "A" only. In Property Manager, that access key can be associated with a property created in group "A" only.

• If you created an access key in group "C", that access key is also associated with group "A". In Property Manager, that access key can be associated with a property created in either group "A" or group "C".

• If you created an access key in group "D", that access key is also associated with groups "B" and "A". In Property Manager, that access key can be associated with a property created in group "A", "B", or "D".
