Overview of the Client Access Control configuration

Akamai sets up the initial Client Access Control configurations for your applications. For a particular application, these configurations can include one or more hostnames.

After the set up is complete, you will use the CIDR Lists application to retrieve the list of proposed CIDR blocks. Once you apply the list of CIDR blocks to your firewall rules, you will use the CIDR Lists application to confirm that you updated your network. (See Updating the list of CIDR blocks for more information.)

Once Akamai receives this confirmation, the CIDR block list is applied to the Client Access Control configuration. Traffic will then flow for those hostnames through the addresses.

When the ACL is updated, Akamai sends an email notification for the change.
