API concepts

You use the Event Center API to interact with the following conceptual objects:

• Event. An object you define that represents an event of custom duration occurring in at least one location. Use the Event Center API to create an event, then track unusual patterns of traffic within the event’s time bounds in the Reporting API.

  📘

  The Event Center API and Event Viewer API event objects are distinct objects with different definitions and shouldn't be confused.

• Tags. A collection of labels that identify an event. You can use tags as query parameters to filter event lists. Unlike strict categories, you can define and apply different tags to the same event.
