Full disk encryption is available for block storage volumes. The platform automatically manages the encryption and decryption process for you. An encrypted volume can be used in the same way that a non-encrypted volume is used today. To learn more, see Volume Encryption.

LKE has been updated to include v0.8.5 of the Linode Block Storage CSI driver.

Kubernetes v1.31 (v1.31.1) is now available on LKE. You can review the official Kubernetes blog post and changelog for more details. In addition, LKE has also been updated to include v0.8.4 of the Linode Block Storage CSI driver.

CoreDNS autoscaling, based on the cluster-proportional-autoscaler project, has been added to LKE. The number of CoreDNS pods now scales based on the number of nodes in the LKE cluster.

This release includes updates to Kubernetes versions on the Linode Block Storage CSI driver.

LKE now includes support for custom labels and taints, which can be applied to node pools through the Linode API. Review the Add Labels and Taints to your LKE Node Pools documentation and the Create a node pool API endpoint documentation for more details.
