Jun 4, 2026 — Password-less Linodes support
about 2 hours ago
Akamai now supports password-less provisioning for Linodes, allowing you to deploy instances with enhanced security.
- New authentication options: All Linodes must have at least one authentication method: SSH keys or a root password. You can now bypass root password creation by opting for SSH key provisioning only.
- Security recommendation: We recommend password-less deployments using SSH keys to better protect your instances from unauthorized access.
- Availability: You can create password-less Linodes through Cloud Manager or Linode API.
