New features and enhancements

Support for Unified Log Streamer (ULS). With ULS, you can stream ​Akamai MFA​ authentication events into any on-premises, cloud SIEM, or flat file for further analysis and storage.

The ​Akamai MFA​ mobile app availability in mainland China. ​Akamai​ supports Chinese users by providing them with an additional channel to download and install the ​Akamai MFA​ mobile app.

Hardware token enhancements let you verify if all hardware tokens were successfully uploaded in ​Akamai MFA​. In case any token was identified as a duplicate and its upload failed, you can find corresponding details in the automatically downloaded csv file.

Updates on the csv file upload. When you're provisioning new users with a csv file, you can specify additional information like aliases and group membership for each new user. You can also check if all new user accounts were successfully created.

Fixed issues

  • Issues related to logging into Windows Server 2012 after installing the ​Akamai MFA​ plug-in were fixed.

Known issues

  • Users using the Windows Logon plug-in and attempting to unlock the Windows locked screen may sometimes encounter errors entering just the username.
    Workaround: Users may try entering domain\username in the username field to unlock the screen.

  • Clicking the “Help” link present in the ​Akamai MFA​ authentication prompt may not open the link in the webview presented inside an application’s client, such as the WebEx client, that is used to authenticate with MFA for that application. As an alternative, the user may enter <<MFA_DOMAIN>>/help in a standard web browser and reach the same destination.

The following are the minimum browser versions that support the ​Akamai MFA​ browser extension:

  • Firefox 87.0

  • Google Chrome 89.0.4389.90

  • Microsoft Edge 89.0.774.57

  • Safari 14.0.3

Internet Explorer is not supported.

Supported mobile devices versions

The following mobile device OS versions support the ​Akamai MFA​ mobile app:

  • iOS 13 and above (iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch)

  • Android 7 and above (phones and tablets)

Supported Windows versions

The following Windows versions support the Windows RDP solution:

  • Clients: Windows 10
  • Servers: Windows Server versions 2012, 2012 R2, 2016, and 2019
