Jan 9, 2024 — Akamai Zero Trust Client Mobile 1.1.1 General Availability (GA) Release
12 months ago by kmieciek@akamai.com
Akamai Zero Trust Client Mobile is now in General Availability. You can update your app in the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
New features and improvements
- Device Posture remediation. The Activity screen now displays information about blocked attempts to access applications or resources when the device doesn’t meet the required risk assessment criteria dictated by the access policy. Remediation messages suggest actions the user can take to fix the problems that were detected.
- EAA Applications with Device Posture criteria. EAA Applications that enforce Device Posture criteria in their Access Control are now accessible by devices using the mobile client.
- Zero Trust Client Mobile is now available in Japanese. To switch languages, set your device’s operating system language to Japanese.
- Distribute the mobile client with MDM solutions. Refer to the MDM section in the client documentation to learn how to distribute Zero Trust Client Mobile with MDM solutions.
Fixed issues
- Entering the IDP URL with a
http
orhttps
protocol prefix no longer results in an error. - IDP hostnames that contain numbers are now supported.
- Various UI fixes and improvements.
Known issues
- On iOS devices, the Device ID in your browser cache doesn’t get updated automatically when you update the client to a new version, which results in a mismatched session binding after the update. The workaround is to clear the browser cache before updating the client. This is necessary to ensure uninterrupted Device Posture operation when accessing your organization’s applications and resources.
- Honor View 20 users may encounter the following issues:
- After a certain period of time, the mobile client may stop routing network traffic through EAA and divert it to a direct path instead.
- VPN may refuse to connect. The workaround is to reinstall the app.
- On Android devices, if you have version 1.1.0 of the client installed and update to 1.1.1, you may experience unexpected behavior with the logout feature. To avoid this issue, if you have an active IDP session, log out or clear your browser cache before updating to 1.1.1.
Limitations
- EAA TCP-type client-access applications aren’t supported. For TCP-based applications, use the tunnel-type mode.
- When addressing Device Posture remediation for signals that require attention, note that changes to your Device Posture status may not come into effect immediately. The client synchronizes Device Posture signals with EAA every 15 minutes.
- The mobile client bypasses the multifactor authentication process when authenticating to third-party IDPs that have MFA enabled.
Supported iOS versions
- iOS 14.1 or later
Supported Android versions
- Android 10 or later
License and EAA configuration requirements
- Enterprise Application Access (EAA) license is required to deploy the client.
- At least one Identity Provider configured in Enterprise Center with the EAA Client enabled.
