Oct 30, 2026 — LKE Enterprise now supports Kubernetes v1.35

Kubernetes v1.35 is now supported on new and existing LKE Enterprise clusters. For full upstream release notes, review the Kubernetes v1.35 blog post.

New

  • Linode Interfaces are now used for worker node network interface configuration. For LKE Enterprise clusters using Kubernetes v.135, all worker nodes are deployed with Linode Interfaces as their network interface configuration tool. Legacy configuration profile interfaces are not supported. To learn more about Linode Interfaces and differences compared with legacy configuration profile interfaces, see Networking interfaces.

Upgrade notes

Before upgrading LKE Enterprise clusters to v1.35, first make sure your account’s global Network Interface Type setting supports Linode Interfaces. This setting should be set to “Linode Interfaces (default) but allow Configuration Profile Interfaces”. If it is set to “Configuration Profile Interfaces Only”, you will not be able to deploy new clusters with, or upgrade existing clusters to, Kubernetes v1.35. See the Select network interfaces for new Linodes guide for instructions on modifying this setting.

For full upgrade instructions, see Upgrade an LKE Enterprise cluster to a newer Kubernetes version .

Known issue with Cloud Firewall assignment

Currently, you are not able to change the Cloud Firewall assignment on clusters using Kubernetes v1.35. See Cannot modify an existing cluster’s Cloud Firewall assignment for more details.
