Oct 26, 2026 — Monitoring for Linodes and Block Storage
Akamai Cloud Pulse metrics and alerts are now available in beta for Linodes and Block Storage (Volumes).
Metrics provide a clear view of how a service performs and how its behavior changes over time. Metrics can be viewed in dashboards or retrieved using the Linode API. They can also be exported for use with external observability tools using the Akamai Distribution of the OTEL collector for Akamai Cloud Pulse. For more information, see the metrics documentation.
Alerts turn raw monitoring data into actionable information by notifying you when a service starts operating outside of expected patterns. Early detection of unusual or important changes in behavior allows you to investigate and resolve issues before they impact users or other parts of your system. For more information, see the alerts documentation.

Linodes metrics and alerts
Akamai Cloud Pulse metrics and alerts are currently available alongside legacy monitoring capabilities. During the transition, you can use either solution to view and query metrics. Review the Transition to New Metrics and Alerts guide to learn about key considerations, benefits, and steps needed to prepare for the transition.
