Kubernetes version 1.31.8+lke5 has been released on LKE Enterprise. For instructions on upgrading the Kubernetes version on your cluster, see Upgrade an LKE Enterprise cluster to a newer Kubernetes version.

Release notes for 1.31.8+lke5:

  • Linode CCM v0.8.0. This release includes a change to how customers need to configure NodeBalancers with VPCs on a cluster. Specifically, service annotations no longer need to be defined when deploying NodeBalancers to VPCs within clusters.
  • Bug fixes for service accounts creations. Service account names are standardized and they are no longer recreated during upgrades.
  • Improvements to resilience and reliability.
    • Switches from third-party registries (including Docker Hub, Quay, GitHub container registry) to a self-managed registry.
    • Reliability improvements made to cilium-agent, cilium-operator, coredns, ccm, and the csi-driver. After this update, customers will see these services restart on their clusters as the images have been changed.
