Jul 7, 2026 — LKE Enterprise Kubernetes v1.34 support

Kubernetes v1.34 is now supported on new and existing LKE Enterprise clusters.

New

Kubernetes v1.34 can now be deployed on LKE Enterprise clusters. This new version comes with the following benefits:

  • DRA for GPUs is now available by default. See the Kubernetes v1.34: DRA has graduated to GA blog post for more details.
  • The resource.k8s.io/v1 APIs have graduated to stable and are now available by default.

For full upstream release notes, review the Kubernetes v1.34 blog post.

Fixed

  • Fixed several miscellaneous issues

Upgrade notes

You can upgrade existing LKE Enterprise clusters to v1.34 with the following considerations. For full upgrade instructions, see Upgrade an LKE Enterprise cluster to a newer Kubernetes version.

  • For node pools without autoscaling enabled, you must have sufficient capacity (worker nodes) available for the managed components to complete a rolling update. Greater than two nodes is needed for upgrade. If any node pools contain zero nodes, the upgrade will not complete successfully.
  • When upgrading multiple versions in succession, a wait period of an hour and thirty minutes is required after each version upgrade. This provides time for all systems to reconcile.
