We're excited to announce that Akamai Cloud Managed Databases now support Dual-Stack VPCs.
Previously, Managed Database instances within a VPC were restricted to IPv4-only connectivity. This limitation prevented the assignment of private IPv6 addresses to database nodes.
With this update, you can now deploy instances within a Dual-Stack VPC, allowing the simultaneous assignment of private IPv4 and IPv6 addresses. This provides greater networking flexibility and ensures compatibility with modern IPv6-first environments.
Key Details & Limitations:
- Dual-Stack capability: Supports both private-only IPv4 and IPv6 assignments.
- Regional availability: Currently Dual-Stack VPCs availability is limited. With general availability, they will be available in all the regions supporting VPC.
